Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand held a videoconference with his Malaysian counterpart on 16 June 2020


 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand had a discussion via videoconference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. Both sides were pleased by the reduction of COVID-19 active cases in two countries and assured to extend further collaboration on this matter for an assistance to Thai and Malaysian people who were affected from COVID-19.  They also exchanged views on various issues including Thailand - Malaysia connectivity and cooperation in ASEAN and APEC frameworks. 
 
On 16 June 2020, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, held a discussion with H.E. Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, via videoconference, to discuss issues and cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia, as a follow-up to the discussion between H.E. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand, and Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd. Yassin, Prime Minister of Malaysia, on 10 June 2020.
 
The Foreign Ministers updated each other on the COVID-19 situation in their respective countries and were pleased with the progress in flattening the curve of infected cases in both countries. Both sides agreed that close cooperation between the two countries is crucial in providing assistance to their respective nationals and ensuring continuity in the supply chain and cross-border trade. They also discussed on the promotion of connectivity between the two countries as well as the on-going cooperation within ASEAN and APEC frameworks.
