รัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศอาเซียนออกแถลงการณ์ติดตามสถานการณ์ความขัดแย้งในตะวันออกกลางอย่างใกล้ชิด พร้อมแสดงความกังวลต่อผลกระทบที่อาจเกิดขึ้นกับประชาชน ทั้งด้านความปลอดภัย ความเป็นอยู่ รวมถึงเสถียรภาพและสันติภาพของภูมิภาคและของโลก ระบุการดำเนินการของทุกประเทศควรเป็นไปอย่างสมดุลและเหมาะสมกับสถานการณ์ โดยคำนึงถึงผลประโยชน์ของชาติและความปลอดภัยของชาวอาเซียนในพื้นที่เป็นสำคัญ พร้อมย้ำว่าการแสดงความคิดเห็นหรือวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ โดยเฉพาะจากผู้สันทัดในด้านการต่างประเทศสามารถทำได้ แต่ต้องอยู่บนพื้นฐานของความรับผิดชอบและความเข้าใจต่อสถานการณ์ นอกจากนี้ยังเรียกร้องให้ทุกฝ่ายแก้ไขปัญหาด้วยสันติวิธีและเคารพกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ รวมถึงหลักการตามกฎบัตรสหประชาชาติ

ขณะเดียวกัน กระทรวงการต่างประเทศไทยได้ติดตามสถานการณ์อย่างใกล้ชิดและดูแลความปลอดภัยของคนไทยในตะวันออกกลางอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยสถานเอกอัครราชทูตไทย ณ กรุงมานามา ประเทศบาห์เรน ได้แจกจ่ายสิ่งของจำเป็นให้กับคนไทยในพื้นที่ พร้อมจัดตั้งศูนย์อำนวยความสะดวกสำหรับผู้ที่ประสงค์เดินทางกลับประเทศไทย

อย่างไรก็ตาม ขณะนี้น่านฟ้าของคูเวตและกาตาร์ยังคงปิดอยู่ ทำให้สถานเอกอัครราชทูตต้องติดตามสถานการณ์อย่างใกล้ชิด เพื่อประเมินเส้นทางการเดินทางหรือการอพยพหากจำเป็น พร้อมประสานหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเตรียมแผนรองรับกรณีฉุกเฉิน

ASEAN Foreign Ministers Express Concern Over Middle East Situation, Urge Peaceful Resolution – Thailand’s MFA Closely Assists Its Citizens

ASEAN foreign ministers have issued a statement closely monitoring the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, expressing concern over its potential impact on civilians, including their safety, well-being, as well as regional and global stability and peace.

The statement noted that any actions taken by countries should be balanced and appropriate to the situation, taking into account national interests and the safety of ASEAN citizens living in the affected areas. It also emphasized that public comments or criticism especially from those with expertise in foreign affairs can be made, but should be expressed with responsibility and a clear understanding of the situation. In addition, ASEAN called on all parties to resolve the conflict through peaceful means and to respect international law, including the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Meanwhile, Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been closely monitoring developments and continuously ensuring the safety of Thai nationals in the Middle East. The Royal Thai Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, has distributed essential supplies to Thai citizens in the area and established a facilitation center to assist those who wish to return to Thailand.

However, the airspace of Kuwait and Qatar remains closed, prompting Thai embassies to closely monitor the situation and assess possible travel routes or evacuation plans if necessary. Relevant agencies are also coordinating to prepare contingency measures and additional evacuation routes in case of emergencies.
